Introduction

The Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC), with the accumulated soft power base of the “Presidents' Forum of Southeast Asia and Taiwan Universities founded by NCKU” (SATU PRESIDENTS' FORUM), established the platform - Global Academic Industry Alliance(GAIA) - to connect the top international medical research centers and institutes. Through academic cooperation and exchanges, Taiwan’s medical device industry wants to build up a closer connection with the world.

We extend our cordial invitation to esteemed key opinion leaders, renowned professors, accomplished medical doctors, distinguished researchers, and seasoned professionals from around the world, with a particular focus on Southern and Southeast Asia, to attend a five-day international conference. Our goal with this conference is to foster the extension of industry-academic collaboration in the field of digital healthcare and treatment.

As Taiwan reopens its borders in 2023, we are pleased to announce that a symposium will be held in person, where representatives from around the globe will share their invaluable insights on the latest trends and future developments in digital healthcare and treatment. This symposium will serve as a formidable platform for international universities and world-leading enterprises to build cross-cultural cooperation and expand their international business marketplace. The GAIA platform will play a critical role in extending international collaborations and fostering a global community of healthcare professionals.

The main objectives of this conference are to (1) create a value-chain platform for international cooperation, (2) support institutions in developing their international network, (3) gain insight into the latest healthcare technology trends, and (4) address future healthcare needs in the aging society and post-pandemic era.

We anticipate that this event will enable participants to gain a precise understanding of future healthcare trends, learn how to build a healthcare network with state-of-the-art technology, and effectively promote healthcare for the future society with lower healthcare costs.

Over the course of seven years, starting in 2015 and ending in 2024, more than 300 individuals from 30 different countries participated in the "International Conference on Future Healthcare and Economic Development in Southeast Asia". The purpose of this conference was to strengthen the GAIA model and establish connections with academic organizations. Our aim was to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome, with all members and participants working together to generate significant economic benefits.
